Our stay at the Kildonan Lodge Hotel in Edinburgh was absolutely unforgettable! From the moment we arrived, we were captivated by the charm of their stunning Victorian building. The elegant architecture and beautifully preserved features made it feel like a step back in time, with the perfect blend of history and modern comfort. A special shout-out to the amazing manager, who went above and beyond to make our stay extraordinary. Her warmth, professionalism, and genuine care made us feel so welcome. She ensured every little detail was perfect and truly made us feel like valued guests. Her dedication is a testament to the exceptional hospitality at Kildonan Lodge. The rooms were spacious, immaculately clean, and thoughtfully designed for comfort. Breakfast was an absolute highlight—delicious, fresh, and beautifully prepared with local ingredients. The hotel’s location was ideal, offering easy access to the vibrant city center while providing a peaceful retreat after a day of exploring. Kildonan Lodge Hotel is more than just a hotel; it’s a home away from home with a touch of luxury. We can’t recommend it highly enough and are already looking forward to our next visit. Wonderful original features still in the house. Cornice, molding, doors, fireplaces, windows etc. All the staff were very friendly and helpful. Fantastic breakfast on a pre-order system so it's almost ready when you get downstairs. Freshly cooked, hot and plentiful. They allow you to order takeaway in as they no longer provide a dinner service. Plenty of soft and alcoholic drinks available to purchase. A small decanter of sherry is provided in the room. Along with good sized towels, hairdryer and best of all an iron and board if you need to smarten things up from your case. Although there are 14 rooms we found it quiet inside the hotel. A good location if you want to stay a bit further out of the city centre as prices have rocketed in town since we visited 2 years ago. Fantastic bus service ( a stop almost outside and opposite) and capped at £4.80 a day no matter how many journeys or how far you travel .It covers going all the way out to Leith on the new tram. The single fare on a tap and go system with cards is £2 00.

I loved my stay at kildonan all the staff were amazing very serviceable they helped us with the luggage and showed us all facilities and made us feel great offered tea and coffee at check in treated our kids very nicely . The room was gorgeous I can’t explain with words and very clean and smells amazing the housekeeping during our stay made sure that to tidy the room every day The breakfast was absolutely amazing We had to wait about 10 min because we’re 5 people but u have to if u want warm food instead of preparing in advance and brings it cold to the table as they serve u in advance tea Coffe and drinks and porridge and fruit salade at the start wich was amazing until the full scotich breakfast served The location of the place is 1000/10 bus stop just across the road 15 min in city centre as the staff explained everything about how to buy daily ticket they were very helpful And after all I would love to comeback and stay here again any time I am in Scotland .

The greeting from the reception team was so lovely. They gave us details about the area and had a printout with the bus routes and a map. They asked us where we wanted to go and told us the best way to get there, they even took the time to have a chat with us about our trip and recommend places to visit and eat. The waiting area was beautiful and had a cosy fire in the evenings. The location of the hotel was fantastic with multiple buses stopping virtually outside. Not too far from city centre and not too far to get to Portobello beach. The room was as described and came with a kettle and an assortment of tea, coffee and hot chocolate. There was also biscuits, bottled water and milk portions, all of which were replenished each day (along with towels). There was a television, hair dryer and even an iron. The water pressure in the shower was amazing and we had complimentary shower gel, shampoo and conditioner. We will definitely be back :)

Our stay at Kildonan lodge hotel was incredible ! The beautiful Victorian building is full of charm and the manager was absolutely amazing so warm and attentive. The rooms were spotless and comfortable , and the breakfast was delicious warm and served with a smile u can feel its made with love and I really respect that make us feel very comfortable Perfect location easy to access bus stop just across the road close to city but in a very peaceful and relaxing road highly recommend it as I am coming back again I suggested to my friend who’s getting married soon and I’ll gift her two nights here at this magical hotel because they wil have the best stays
